Wisdom down by a quarter!!

Okay i'm back after a nice long bath...


So time to tell the story of my wisdom tooth surgery..


Well... it all started one day with a naggin pain in my mouth..


I couldnt stand it anymore... So...
I decided to go to a dentist
I went to the one nearest to my house.. but...
I would need to wait for a mth
I decided to go somewhere else
I went to another dental clinic
I think its De Pacific Dental Clinic
I like the place..
I think it looks very cosy for a dental clinic!
I am probably the only one to ever say that..

I am going to get a drink..
I'll be right back!

I went to get an Xray of the teeth
I was told to either bear the pain or get it out
I chose to get it out
I had to eat medication to reduce swelling first tho..


I made an appointment for 16th..
I think the swelling was gone by then
I went to the dentist at bout 1.30..
I waited for a while
I listened as the dentist explained to me
I was asked if i wanna take out all 4 or 2 or 1
I chose one at a time...
I didnt want to end up with a swollen mouth
I chose to say bye bye to the tooth on the bottom right


I was briefed bout the risks n procedures
I was then given 8 pills to take
I managed to swallow it all with a mouthful of water!
I lay on the chair thingy.. while the doc applied some gel
I felt my gums going coooolll
I kept wanting to lick the gel off
I think my tongue was covered with it too!
I was told that I'll be getting jabs next
I thought it would be normal ones
I was shocked when I saw the instruments!
I think they were as long as a plastic ruler
I faintly rmbr them being metal all the way...
I felt the doc pulling my mouth to the side..
I got ready to wince n cry for the needle
I think the doc warned me it was going in...


I realised it wasnt that painful
I relaxed n watched cheryl fox on CNA
I think there were 2 or 3 more of those jabs into my gums
I m guessing u are wincing now..
I think I am used to getting jabs..
I think nothing is as bad as getting 4 jabs on the top of ur head!
I could feel the needle being pulled out for that!
I think my gums were semi numb by now
I could feel my tongue going numb too
I wanted to swallow saliva!!
I didnt know how
I think I ate some of the gel in the end.. -_-


I was covered with the green cloth thingy
I could only see a teeny bit thru the hole..
I was supposed to rest n relax..
I think only the mouth was supposed to be exposed
I was lucky my eye peeped out a tiny tiny bit..
I can watch TV for a while!! HAHA


I just lay there squinting at the tv..
I think the doc was nice..
I was told of what he was going to do all the time
I had someone beside me
I think i produced alot of saliva.. eeecckksss
I think d person literally 'vacuumed' my mouth.. HAHA


I was told the doc was cutting the gums..
I couldnt feel a thing at all...
I was den told to expect some nosie..
I was warned by the doc.. cos he was going to drill
I expected pain.. but there was none
I felt water in my mouth instead..
I thought it was saliva again!!
I was wrong..
I think the drill thingy had water tube thingy too
I guess it was cos the tooth 'powder' needs to be washed off
I just squinted at tv again..
I think the doc drilled ALOTT


I was then told to expect cracking sounds
I felt my tooth being tugged n pulled..
I heard a CRACK!
I kept hearing moreeee drilling..
I think after about 10 minutes of this..
I heard the doc say to me...
"I think ur tooth very reluctant to come out!"
I wanted to laugh but it was impossible... darn!


I finally heard more CRAAACKSS!
I could feel the doc tuggin n wrestling..
I heard the nurse saying 0h its coming out!
I heard the doc drop stuff onto the metal dish
I think nearly half an hr of pushing my jaw down n wrestling..
I heard the doc say 'ok wash the area..'
I was wondering if i was going to be done soon..
I den heard him tell me...
"I am going to stitch the area up.. okay.."
I was stunned
I didnt know i needed stitches! hahaha
I just lay there while my gum was all stitched up..
I dont have any other choice ritee.. DEENNNNN
I heard the nurse comment..
'I think it looks quiet swollen now eh?'
I waited for the nurse to stuff a gauze inmy mouth
I bit on it.. n it didnt hurt (:


I was shown the teeth..
I was initially told they will be splisting it into about three..
I think it ended up being split intp 5! dat hard to get it outt..

I hoped the nurse was lying..
I was allowed to go out to the reception to wait..
I immediately felt my cheeks
I was lost for words..
I couldnt feel a thing!!
I couldnt feel my fingers on the cheeks!
I could judge from the size it was swollen tho..
I den got my medication n took a cab


I headed down to crescent..
I had to go meet Mdm Lim you see...
I had all the printed stuff with me..
I suddenly think my threshold of pain is high! hahaha
I reached Crescent
I went to look for Mdm Limn Liling and Jiatru
I think the two of them were smiling away..
I sat beside Mdm Lim so she couldn't see
I talked n talked
I explained n explained
I tried hard to keep the gauze in there

I think at some point of time...
I saw Liling n Jiatru keep looking
I wondered why...
I soon found out..
I went to toilet after the meeting to see the swelling
I wanted to see if it was dat bad before i go see cadets
I think Liling said 'U better change the gauze!'
I asked why..
I opened my mouth in the mirror..
I got my answer..
I saw only red.. the gauze was all bloody!
I tried to change the gauze..
I dropped a couple on the floor in the process
I finally did it.. N jiatru was done changing..


I went down to canteen with the 2..
I think after some time had to talk to the sec 4s
I had nth to say after that..
I was laughed at.. by them.. n by liling.. grrrr!!! coss....
I talked funny with the gauze in my mouth!


I ended up being comic relief for a while..
I den realised the anaesthetic was beginning to wear off..
I felt a bit of pain setting in...
I think training was just ending by then.. phewww good timing
I got Liling to help me buy water
I wanted to change another bloody gauze.. its gross
I think I practically kept swallowing the blood la!!
I was supposed to change it every 20 mins
I was in training n couldnt..
I think I finally changed it after 2 hrs!
I dont wanna know how much blood I drank.. ughh
I suddenly feel like a vampire..


I got tissue from a cadet.. Nicholas I think..
I finally managed to get that thing out n change
I think it was HORRIBLE!
I think cos the new gauze was dry n hard..
I guess oso possibly cos the anaesthetic was nearly all gone..
I nearly couldnt stand the pain!! BOOHOOO
I think we were near the foyer waiting for Jr..
I was standing there with TLL..n the cadets..
I faintly rmbr TLL playing n poking saying its still numb..
I pity my cheek.. PAINFUL!!
I think Nicholas asked earlier bout how long the numbing lasts..
I faintly rmbr her saying.. '0hhh ma'am.. shud be painful now rite?'
I could help thinking how right she was! hahaha
I think its all the bad karma coming back to haunt me! haha


I went to CCK with JR for dinner..
I think while on the MRT, the nurse called..
I was amazed.. She asked if it was painful
I said yes.. she asked if I have taken the pills yet
I said ooopss.. not yet.. hahaha
I was asked to take it soon.. before it gets very bad..
I couldnt take the pain so..
I ate the pills before I bought food.. a few mins wont matter much
I chose clam chowder.. n d bread..
I was sooo much slower den Jr in finishing..
I felt exremely full tho.. haha must be the slowness..
I think we walked ard for a while.. n OH!!

I bought a cam.. hahaha
I've been wanting to for very long anyway
I den realised..
I spent nearly a thousand that day alone
600+ on the surgery..
300+ on the camera..
I think I could have bought 2 cameras instead on the tooth
I reached home.. n realised...
I dont exactly have to pay any of it..
I am going to be claiming the cam for LDS...
I used medisave for the surgery..soooo
I spent only on my soup n bread.. HAHA!!
I think its amazing.. hahahaha!!!


I also think its time to end this post..
I managed to write a super super super long one tdy..
I wonder if I'm going to update soon again..
I guess u have to be satisfied with this till i do the next one..
I suggest u read one paragraph per day
I think you'll finish in half a mth...
I am guessing there'll be a new post by then..

ehhh.. lets see.. 2nd feb... 0h 4th feb was DCS presentation on field trips.. n i think we are kinda screwed!! RAHHH!!! bye bye markssss...


denn.. 0h superdog still rulez... yongni pls remind me of our date... n come on time to pick me up.. HAHA!


Valentine's day.. was spent in IKEA with Jiatru, Liling and Jiaying.. discussing promo criterias.. so sad rite.. its okay... shows how much we LOVE np.. n the kids? haha ok u didnt hear that from me..


den total defence day was mad typing day!! i think i typed sooo much np stuff in a day.. so proud of myself for being so efficient.. u must be wondering why i was so mad to rush all these stuff when i'm supposed to be slacking..

Cos.. monday i went to pluck my tooth out.. (the whole story in the next post.. coming right up!) Den went down unit to meet mdm lim for promo stuff..


Den thursday had unit briefing.. lucky my mouth wasn't swollen anymore!! if not I would have sounded sooo weird when talking.. haha

Den from thursday to friday.. i didnt sleep.. basically rushed out 2 assignments.. worth a total of 175% marks!! like wdh.. IT JUST HAD TO BE DUE ON THE SAMEEE DAY!


Assignment was due at 4pm.. i finished at 12.45pm.. n had a meeting with Mrs Pauline Lee at LPS at 1! like woww... so dumped the whole thing on Merlion to help me pass up.. THANKS BABE!! (ps: update ur blog!)


Okay den I got the timetable.. I'm floating again.. hehe kinda good since i dont need to wake up at like 5am.. phewww but I end later.. hmpsss


Dennn.. went to HTA for some marking n to try n join in for debrief before it ends.. Den sat was finally time to sleep after more den 40 hrs of not sleeping.. Yawwnnzzzz


Sunday... just floated away somehow..


Monday!! Practicum started!! I actually felt absolutely bored.. Nearly dozed off alot of times.. whoopsss... went for training after that.. n gave lect.. n somehow pple there kept laughing.. -_-


Tuesday was practicum all the way to friday which was tdy.. den after work went to NPAP training.. Tdy was an interesting day..


I got to realise how much difference I can make to someone.. Be it a student of mine.. or a cadet.. Just the way u act can impact them enough to change them for the better in less than 5 mins.. That made me realise why I was into teaching and serving NP all these times..


simply indescribable.. you wont know it till u feel it for urself..


0hhh nnnnn... hahahaha I think I have a phobia of commiting myself to something!! I just realised it....!! n I'm afraid of talking to new people.. I never knew it I was this afraid and nervous la! 0h mannnn... got to get over it soon!

Why Take Action? by teo aik cher.. I think its a cute book. hahaha Just finished reading it over the weekend. Maybe shall go try out some of the methods he mentioned in there.. hahaha


I think its rather funny.. I've been sleeping at 4 am the past week.. and waking up at 1pm.. always intending to cook lunch or dinner for dad n bro but my dad always finshes cooking by the time i start to get up! I feel so pampered!! haha n feel so horrid for waking up late n not doing a thing!!


I think my dad is super efficient! By the time I wake up at 1pm.. Food is settled. Laundry will be done and folded. The house will be cleaned. Like wow!! He's like some clockwork mouse or something! super amazing! At least for mum, she'll be cooking when I wake up at 1.. den I can go disturb disturb a bit.. stir here n stir there n say I helped... HEEHEEHEE


Ok i'm gonna turn over a newwww leaf!! Maybe Tuesday or Wednesday I will be guai enuf to come home straight after class.. n go mop n sweep the floor.. n cook dinner for a change! Ok i shall tryyyy to do that.. n 0h yess clean those cages.. hahaha they are filthy!


Honestly.. with the number of pple who come to me to ask qns from factual things to feeling things to relationship things.. to life management things.. I feel like a psychiatrist of some sort!! HAHAHA but I feel great.. at least it shows my EQ is good n I am rather trustable.. not alot.. just a bit.. hahahaha...!! lets just say I'm a little intuitive as well heeheee


Ok that's too much of self praise for one night.. ok maybe not.. i think its really really cool that NLB has student works in their collection! hahah because it means that my work is in there too! Out of boredom I tried googling my name upon suggestion form a friend.. n voila! There I saw it! Little Yellow Chick.. O Reel Pictures.. Screenplay by Meera Devi.. Produced by Adeline Hui.. Directed by Rose Izyan.. hahah brought memories floating back! I'm gonna get down to NLB one day n borrow the DVD to watch.. haha
